Biography:
Phil Saunders is a freelance concept and storyboard artist, designer, director and writer based in Los Angeles, California. Best known for co-designing the title character'™s suit for the feature film Ironman, Phil has contributed design and illustration to several feature films over the last eight years, including Zathura, Spiderman 3, Jarhead and the upcoming Tron 2.
With a style characterized by diversity, Phil tackles subjects as wide ranging as futuristic technology, whimsical fantasy, outrageous cartoon and convincing period, and approaches characters, environments, props and vehicles with equal relish.
Phil'™s background is in Industrial Design, and his career has spanned 20 years of design for both industry and entertainment. He got his start designing cars for Nissan Design International in San Diego, and followed that with ten years as creative director for San Diego-based game developer Presto Studios, Inc., where he led the design of such award-winning and critically acclaimed adventure games as The Journeyman Project Trilogy, and Myst 3: Exile.
